Summerhouse getaway by PMI St. Augustine
Our pick for the prettiest half-day within twenty minutes. The beach on the ocean side is covered in huge rust-red coquina boulders, which sounds odd until you see it — it looks nothing like the rest of Florida and it's where everybody ends up taking the photo they actually frame. Cross A1A and there are formal gardens under enormous live oaks, quiet and shaded. Five bucks a car. We go when we need an afternoon that isn't the beach but still feels like the coast.
