I love Armature as a whole, but Oak & Ola is my absolute favorite. The dinner last night was simply wonderful. The salmon was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the ratatouille was delicious, and together with the olives and dressing was a great combination. The lamb pita was also incredible - the flavor profiles all worked so beautifully. And the Basque Cheesecake was just the perfect ending to our meal. I’ve been many times and I’ll keep coming back!, Food, service and atmosphere 10/10. Michael was attentive and kind. He made great recommendations that made the experience so much better. We got the crab and beet salad, the frittata, and the prosciutto salad. All of them incredible. It’s my second time here, and I will definitely be back., We came here late on a Sunday night and it felt like we were the only patrons in the entire restaurant. After having a taste of the food however, we were impressed and delighted.
The cheese and charcuterie need to be ordered separately which is a little gimmicky, but the honeycomb and fig jam were great accompaniments to this great starter course. The pesto on top of the Burrata was probably the best tasting thing we had. The sausage was a lot of food and it was very assertive and tangy, everything went nicely together and it wasn’t too strongly sausage tasting.
The prices are a little steep for the quality, but I presume that’s due to the location being at armature works. Probably the best food you’re going to get inside of armature works., This place is absolutely awesome. Our waiter was Johnny and he was the best! Described the drinks and dishes in such good detail. Our best dining experience since moving to Tampa 5 months ago., Had a 5pm reservation and we opted to sit at the outside tables as there was a slight breeze in the air, not too hot. Our server, Destiny, was incredibly knowledgeable on all dishes with personal recommendations. She is what servers should strive to be like. Just a positive, upbeat attitude and making sure her customers are having an unforgettable experience.
Now for the food. The top 3 sections of the menu are considered appetizers. But we tried the seared pork belly, octopus, braised lamb on pita, and charcuterie board (meat and cheese). All were amazing! Some of the entrees at our table were the pork chop, gulf fish, burger, and Chicken Marsala. My favorite out of all was actually the pork chop. Not many people cook pork chops correctly (usually overcooked), but this was cooked to PERFECTION. Juicy inside and well seasoned. One of the best tasting chops I've ever had, hands down.
Lastly, all of us were stuffed but we insisted on trying the toffee cake. Let me tell you, this was the highlight of my experience here. I should've started with that then had my appetizers/entree. The whole table raved. Please do yourself a favor and make sure to try this delicious bite. The warm, flavorful bite of cake punches you with immediate happiness. The side of vanilla bean ice cream we ordered perfectly complemented the warm cake. Then you spoon over a bit of that toffee sauce on the plate and it's really the most perfect dessert bite you will ever have.
We are still talking about this cake btw. Lol
