I’ve had Lithuanian and Russian food before, but never Ukrainian or Georgian, and as much as I love South Tampa, it does lack variety in its restaurants, so we were happy to stumble across this place. The food is delicious, and they have really interesting beers and wines to try. The service was also very friendly and considerate, and they were so sweet to let my 2 and half year old daughter play with the Russian doll she saw on our way to our table., My hubby and I just enjoyed the most amazing dinner! Nene’s Restaurant (on El Prado and Manhattan) was FANTASTIC! This sweet little family business has the sweetest charm, incredible Eatern European food, wine and beers, and phenomenal service! Dennis was our server and was so knowledgeable about each traditional dish, telling us his personal favorites and even advising us on the traditional way to eat some of the dishes. I rarely go online to share my thoughts on a restaurant… but this one was a definite must. They seem to be a bit slow lately, which breaks my heart! The restaurant business is a brutal one! Let’s show them how to support small businesses and great food! Check out their place! Open for lunch and dinner! Closed Mondays, Best food I’ve had since coming to Florida. Every dish was great, especially the bread dishes that I can’t pronounce. Will be back for the stuffed peppers. Service was fantastic and the ambiance was very lively. The dumplings tasted very similar to Chinese soup dumplings., My first time having Georgian and Ukrainian food. It was excellent. We got a cheese and egg bread boat that was buttery bread stuffed with mozzarella 🤤 Then soup dumplings with lamb in them. The lamb was well seasoned and not gamey at all. The dumpling dough was thick and chewy. Then we finished with a honey cake that was just the right amount of sweet. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes. The service was nice and decor was interesting., Always up for the experience of trying new foods. Nene’s is a Ukrainian treat right in the heart of a major American city that is Tampa. We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner; what a treat it was! I had the beef stroganoff as well as some bread that tasted like a cheese pizza. The staff were friendly and informative and the decor was inviting and cozy. We’ll be returning soon!
