Delaney’s Tavern is such an underrated restaurant just north of the SoDo area in Orlando! Everybody always goes to Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, and downtown or Mills/50 areas for good restaurants, but why not here? They have a convenient parking garage right next to the restaurant since it’s attached to a hotel, and if you eat here, parking is free! The food is awesome, and if you came with a group of 30, I can guarantee everyone would leave happy because there is something for everyone! On our recent visit, we got a variety of different things: blue crab beignets, brie in puffs, spinach & berries salad, French onion soup, lobster bisque, gluten-free shrimp tacos (they have corn tortillas), smoked brisket tacos, bucatini bouillabaisse, and a skillet brownie as well as the the basque cheesecake with yuzu and blackberry drizzle for dessert, and some salted caramel ice cream on the side! Everything was so, so good! The beignets and brie in puffs are must-try dishes if you like crab and puff pastry with cheese, both soups were super good and the lobster bisque had a LOT of BIG chunks of lobster inside - one of the best we’ve ever had! The salad was great too! All the tacos we got were excellent; either would be a great choice, and the bucatini bouillabaisse (a February special) was incredible - another must-try. The desserts were amazing and the cheesecake especially was one of the best we’ve had in a very long time! Our waitress was super nice, friendly, and attentive, and she made the whole experience so much better than it already was. A great place that is centrally-located for everyone in Orlando, check this place out as soon as possible!! We will be back many more times!, Stopped in to try their Bite 30 menu (formerly known as Magical Dining). Service was decent, slow but friendly. Food was a bit hit and miss, the bang bang shrimp was great but the maple glazed Brussel sprouts were a bit mushy and flavorless. The blackened chicken tortellini was the highlight of the meal and very delicious, the sauce was perfect and the pasta was amazingly cooked. However the same can’t be said for the picanha steak, which was not cooked great. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it. For dessert, the lava cake was wonderful while the hummingbird cake was just okay, not bad by any means though. Overall 6/10., My husband and I did a weekend staycation and noticed that the hotel we were staying at had a restaurant. Now I normally don’t like hotel restaurants because the food and service usually would be terrible, but not Delaney Tavern! They exceeded our expectations! I was relatively shocked at how great the food was and the attentive service that we received! Shelby was our waitress and she, along with some others quickly brought out our food and checked on us to see if we needed anything else. It’s such a shame no one really knows about this hidden gem with reasonable prices! Atmosphere: modern contemporary feel. Only con: was a bit warm in the restaurant. Food: appetizer: Blue Crab Beignets - 3.5/5 - well cooked but not much flavor although the horseradish aioli and apple slices added a nice sweet savory taste on your palette Main dishes: Smoked Brisket Tacos- 4/5 - brisket was cooked to perfection. Definitely a unique taco with roasted peppers in the flour tortillas. Squid ink shrimp linguine- 4.5/5 - huge scallops and shrimp with purple colored linguine with a creamy orange sauce with a kick of heat. Linguine was cooked al dente (the way I like it). But the star of the meal was the sauce. Dessert: Hummingbird cake 🍰 4.5/5 Wow.. this cake was so soft and the added pineapple cream cheese with hints of coconut was amazing! My husband and I was fighting for the last bite 😂 Overall: Will definitely come again, This past Saturday, I hosted a 90th birthday party for my mom and 28 of her friends. I was quite happy with the event and the room we rented was spacious and bright and allowed everyone to hear well. The food was delish, and communication with Bryant was good and I am thankful for his help. -janice P.S. the wedge salad was the show-stopper!!, The restaurant was stunning both inside and out! We began with the bang bang rock shrimp and kung pao cauliflower as appetizers, and they were delightful. My dinner date (my lovely sister) ordered the almond garlic crusted salmon and found it to be amazing. However, the flavor of the rice was not to her liking, and I found the texture to be off. Nevertheless, there were no significant complaints about her entrée. I opted for the picanha steak cooked medium, accompanied by the suggested cognac cream sauce, jasmine rice, and topped with a sunny side up egg. I believe that the wasabi garlic aioli might have been a better complement to the steak, as the cognac sauce somewhat overpowered its flavor. For dessert, we shared the brookie skillet and the hummingbird cake, both of which were exceptional! Special thanks to our waiter, Gabriel, who was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
