One of those places that is somewhat overrated. The pros. Great atmosphere and great service. The cons. The food. The tomato salad was very good. Everything else eh. We had the lobster pasta. Not much lobster and not great sauce. Rack of lamb. Ordered medium rare, but was overcooked. Served with a sauce that wasn't great, and would have been better without any sauce. Truffle pasta with steak add on was overcooked. Seabass also overcooked. Maybe a bad day in the kitchen? But at these prices it should be better., Snapper was seasoned to perfection! Scallops were cooked perfectly. Beet salad was delicious. Gordon Ramsey would be so proud! Our waiter Nick was so attentive and outside seating area was super comfortable. All food is made from scratch, daily and it shows., 5 stars all around. I love Del Mar. Been here 4 times now and the food, the drinks and the service are consistently great each time. I am not one to typically order steak at a restaurant because I feel I can make it better at home but not here. The Ribeye is fantastic! Their hummus trio with fresh vegetables is literally the best appetizer my husband and I ever eaten anywhere. I am gluten free and dairy free and they go out of their way each time to accommodate me. They also make a wonderful espresso martini — they can make them decaf which is very important to me as I cannot drink caffeine. Only thing I wish is that they had an option for gluten-free pita to go with the hummus trio! Otherwise this is my favorite restaurant in Naples!!!, I totally understand that Del Mar is a favorite “go to” for a lot of locals. I just don’t get why. The atmosphere and service are both at the level I would have expected, but the food is frankly just … average. And both my cocktail and that of one of my guests needed to be sent back as they were barely drinkable. Not sure if I would return with all of the other options available., We had a family dinner on a saturday night. Excellent restaurant centrally located in 5th avenue. Service was awesome, Cassidy was very professional and friendly, took great care of us, and gave us recommendations of what to order. Great selection of wine, the 5 dips are a must have, along with the lobster spaghetti. Highly recommended.
