I visited the Miami Seaquarium on July 4th 2024. Got a general admission ticket, however at that time any ticket upgrades such as animal encounters or/and interactions was unavailable. Though, the location is great located in Virginia Key where you can get a great view of the Miami downtown from far. Entering inside, I recommend getting tickets from online because it is more expensive to get tickets right at the gates. The place was unfortunately not that diverse, however there were a lot of cool shows where trained dolphins, and sea lions follow the leader's moves and they're surprisingly intelligent and good at it. It's also a lot of fun looking at information about them. There are also flamingos and American white ibis right in front of the entrance. I stayed here for around 3-4 hours, going here on mid-summer the weather was really harsh. However, there were only around 2-3 shows to experience, and a couple presentations and talks, you couldn't really be there for all day. There are also some exotic fishes. Overall though, a cool place to visit., Enjoy a day in the sun with your Family or friends.
Catch the beautiful flamingos in the front. Get a rocket popsicle from the gift store to walk with while you tour the sea aquarium. Go see the seals, the ladies can answer any question you have. They are well informed and kind. Catch the dolphin show and then stay for a bit to get a picture and talk to the ladies about the dolphins so that you can get to know their names. Check out the stingrays and birds. If you have a toddler, let them enjoy the grounds and rope challenge.
Chanya, The shows were good. Not every exhibit was open. The place was pretty empty. Overall I think this place could use more exhibits! We took pictures with the sea lion. We pet the dolphins as well. We had to pay extra for that. Also paid more for the pictures too. Go early to enjoy all shows. Need more seating while waiting for dolphins. I do recommend going we are visiting from Texas., We went on Monday 8th July. Bought tickets from Groupon so worked out at $26 each after tax. Shows were great. The top deck dolphin show expect to get wet if your standing in the rails and the other 2 shows of the flipping dolphins and sea lions were great also. and we loved the stingray touching enclosure which is in tropical wings. The lovely staff member Natalie was very informative telling me about how they are only females in there and their origins too! The was feeding in about 10 mins and was a great experience for only $5 each to feed them and would highly recommend this to anyone visiting! Don’t be put off by the low reviews this is only about 4hrs to get everything done if you arrived at 10:30am but overall a great day out and plenty of shade as you walk around too, Miami Seaquarium is a fantastic spot for a family day out! From the moment you walk in, the uplifting music sets a fun and welcoming atmosphere. It’s super family-friendly, with a playground for kids and a few "food" options like tacos, pizza, and ice cream. A quick tip: bring your own snacks. The wait lines can get long, so having something on hand can be a lifesaver. Also, don't forget your umbrellas / sunblock / sunglasse and a big bottle of water to stay protected from the scorching sun.
The Seaquarium is home to familiar sea animals that both entertain and educate, because you can catch incredible shows featuring sea lions, dolphins, & orcas and each show is an absolute must-see and adds to the memorable experience. By the time I`m writing this (July 2024) only the Dolphin show was up and running, Just a reminder that the ticket was thirty-five usd.
For families with little ones, there are stroller spots available, making it convenient to navigate through the park. And don’t forget to stop by the gift store before you leave. It’s the perfect place to grab a souvenir to remember your visit.
One important thing to keep in mind is that many of the animals at the Seaquarium are either rescued or born there. Releasing them into the wild wouldn’t be safe, as they have never learned to hunt for themselves. It’s a dilemma, I know, but the Seaquarium provides them with a safe and caring home.
Overall, Miami Seaquarium is a fun, educational, and entertaining destination that’s perfect for a family outing. It offers a wonderful mix of shows, activities, and amenities that ensure a great time for everyone. ENJOY IT!
