Great tour guide, good access to the ship, we were able to ask a variety of questions and received valuable and cogent responses from the tour guide. The displays and plaques were also informative. There is a gift shop, I didn’t get a good look at it., I loved this whole museum. if you like history please check out this place. it hold alot of history and fun facts, I took so many pictures and videos. and I just genuinely enjoyed being surrounded my history, First off, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Be warned though, this ship is HOT. I barely sweat spending the previous day at Busch Gardens but was almost dripping here. However, there are several "cool down" rooms where you can get a reprieve from the sweltering Florida heat. You can tell the people really care about making this a great experience for visitors due to this and other reasons. For example, the ship has been updated to include like five bathrooms and there's even a handwashing station in the galley. Yes, the water in an 80-year-old ship's kitchen still works! They even let you ring the bell on the deck. I felt a bit like a kid again. I won't spoil too much with my photos and videos because you should see for yourself; it's a really interesting museum and living history., Very enjoyable museum! Reasonably priced, they have a nice more normal museum display in the beginning before transitioning to more of a direct display of how the ship was used. I met one of the volunteers and he shared many stories and valuable information of the ship. He showed the most interesting room in my opinion with a map of everywhere the ship has been. He was able to relate to my previous knowledge of the era, while providing solid additions of facts! I really enjoyed just being able to wander and think of all the places this ship has been. The various missions she served during her life. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but worth dealing with for this fantastic museum!, My sister came over from the orient on one of the Victory ships (as a child) just after the war. She actually gave us a more in-depth tour. She showed us where she bunked and played. I especially enjoyed the kitchen!
