My favorite local place for canoeing. It is beautiful and peaceful. You may see a LOT of gators here especially compared to other parks in the area. They love to hang out in sunny spots. There are good walking paths (on boardwalks too) and lookout areas. Entry is $2. Parking is plentiful. Restrooms are extremely clean!, What can $2 get these days? All of this... A beautifully renovated playground with excellent, modern equipment and clean restrooms nearby. The park equipment has an adorable nature theme. (Pavillions available for rent with advanced reservations) Surrounding fields suitable for all the balls (football, soccer, playing catch) Bring a blanket and a packed picnic. Lettuce Lake Park is near the river and offers many long boardwalk trails 👣 that lead to beautiful scenes of water. It is quiet and serene and your soul will thank you. Alligators, turtles, 🐢 birds 🐦(oh my) and more can be spotted along the way. One of the trails leads to a lookout tower with stunning views at the top. Canoe and kayak rentals are also available. We had a perfect day with the family for just $2 cash per vehicle upon entering the park. I highly recommend a day at Lettuce Lake Park. (We didn't see any Lettuce though ;-), Park is well maintained and structured. There is a big playground , plenty of shaded picnic tables , parking spaces and bathrooms in the park. I need to say this bathrooms are very clean and water fountains are for you and your pets. Board walks are for exploring the park nature and you can spot some crocodile and turtles., This is a very beautiful place to escape from the city and immerse yourself into nature. Plenty of wildlife everywhere you look. We saw 4 alligators within 30 minutes of walking on the boardwalk. I highly recommend coming to this place. It’s absolutely beautiful., Love this place!!! Such wildlife and the calm. Can't bring your dog on the boardwalk but sure wish I could. Dogs are allowed on the paved path.
