We have chartered your boat Monterey on May 6 (half day) and May 9, 2024 (full day). It wasn't until the second payment that I noticed the company charged us $100 for fuel. We are nowhere near using that amount. The boat in question has a fuel tank of approximately 36 gal (36.3 l). At a price of about $3.8/gal. we would have to use about 26 gallons of gasoline. We have taken a photo of the on-board computer about 30 minutes before the boat returned, which shows that we used less than a quarter of the tank! However, the company did not respond to our complaint at all. !!! Opinion on Port O Call Marina's response: Unfortunately you are not right. Even if the price of gas was $5.30 a gallon (versus my price of $3.8 - see previous text), we would have to burn 18.9 gallons of fuel on a hundred dollar bill, practically half a tank. However, as you can see from the on-board computer photo, we didn't even use a quarter of that tank., My family rented a tritoon boat for the day. It was newer and very clean. We had a great time and no problems with the price. We just made sure to ask for the out the door price and there were no fuel charge surprises or any other unexpected charges. Parking is close to the boat. There are carts to help you get your stuff from the car to the boat too. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely rent from them again., The experience was excellent! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, which contributed to a pleasant time. The boat was brand new, and they helped us understand how to operate the boat and where we could take the boat. I would highly recommend them to anyone and plan to use them again on my next trip! Book with confidence!, I have been renting boats from Porta Call Marina for 15 years and the staff has always been friendly and professional . For the last few years I have been working with Christian and he has been a real pleasure to work with. Now they have all new boats and I can’t wait to get back in October to try another one. I won’t rent anywhere else., I recently rented a tritoon from Port O Call. We had a good day, and the boat was in good condition. I was disappointed in the billing aspects of the rental. Following making my reservation, I received forms via email. The forms requested passenger names and payment, which is understandable. The website indicates the daily rental price for the boat and indicates that Tax (7%) , Fuel, and Insurance are extra. Upon completing my registration and issuing payment, I received a receipt that was the cost of rental as stated on the website but it had an additional 10% charged with no explanation. Collier county tax of course is only 6%. I inquired about the extra fee and was told it was a "booking fee" which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the documents or the website. Additionally, I was also told that fees for gas were determined by consumption. I am very familiar with the boat and the motor and the fuel efficiency and was shocked to receive my final bill for fuel of $90.00! I called to inquire and was told that fuel isn't based on consumption as I was told, but rather a flat fee. My advice to the owner, is if gas is charged as a flat fee, it should be included in the original billing and made clear upfront because clearly it's not a variable charge. If every rental is charged $90.00 fee for fuel, why isn't it paid just like the rental fee? Despite the disappointment in the billing process, and the undisclosed fees, we did have a good day on the water. I will be cautious renting next time.
